Become a Sustainability Champion with Stonewater
We’re really excited to introduce our new customer training programme, Sustainable Futures, focusing on sustainability and green skills!
This new venture, led by our own Sustainability team in conjunction with the Greenoak Centre of Excellence, is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in the environment and the changes that organisations, like us, are making to support decarbonisation.
Sustainable Futures will provide skills, training and experience to Stonewater customers over 12 months. You’ll learn about different topics and have the opportunity to gain qualifications to help boost your CV! You’ll also be part of a team providing feedback about our own sustainability projects by sharing your experiences and knowledge.
You don’t need any experience or knowledge, all we’re looking for is people with a passion for sustainability, or those who want to learn more about the changes we can make for the environment.
What does Sustainable Futures involve?
Our training programme will consist of 8 virtual sessions, spread over 12 months. Each session will have your very own Course Leader who will support you throughout your training, as well as the opportunity to hear from experts. The sessions include:
- Introduction to Sustainable Futures – our customer sustainability programme
- Introduction to Domestic Energy Efficiency
- Fuel Poverty and Health
- Improving Existing Homes
- New Homes
- Water and Ecology
- Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)
- Employability, Applications and Interviews
Over the year, you’ll have access to your own online platform where you can discuss different ideas, ask for guidance and share information with others in your training group, as well as your Course Leader. You’ll also have access to external training and webinars which will help increase your knowledge and understanding of sustainability.
Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll be able to work with our dedicated Employability team who will support you to apply for jobs and apprenticeships, help update your CV and be able to prepare you for future interviews with employers, if this is something you’re interested in.
At the end of the training, you’ll become our first ever Sustainability Champions! With your new knowledge and skills, you can support our Sustainability team with future projects by offering your valuable experiences and feedback. Our team will continue to support you too.
Together we can create a better world for future generations, by increasing our knowledge and taking steps to become more environmentally friendly.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 2nd April and we’ll be in touch soon after. As part of your application, we’ll ask what availability you have and we’ll try our best to find a time that suits everyone.
