A trip down memory lane at Chaddesley Court

Recently colleagues from our Chaddesley Court Retirement Living scheme met with Vicky Phelps, the founder of the shop ‘Mindful Gifts’ at a dementia open day with BUDs (Better Understanding Dementia Sandwell).

After learning that ‘Mindful Gifts’ was created as a solution to providing suitable gift ideas for people with dementia as well as enabling them to take part in meaningful activates, both our colleagues and Vicky had the wonderful idea of hosting a vintage tea for our residents where Vicky could bring along her pop-up shop and sell all things vintage (sweets, games and records etc.).

Our residents had a great day reminiscing over all the memorabilia that was on display - a lovely trip down memory lane for everyone concerned.

The event proved such as success that the team are now looking to roll this initiative out to two other of our schemes in the Black Country.
