Considering a home through Stonewater? Hannah and her wife did!

Hannah and her wife were first introduced to Stonewater after seeing a property advertised on Moving Soon. They had been searching for around five years to find a suitable property that matched their needs but had struggled in the challenging private rented sector, as properties were unaffordable, of poor quality and lacked the necessary security.

Hannah stated that their driving force for finding a home was ‘'that we wanted to better ourselves, and take ourselves out of our previous situation of living in just one room in emergency accommodation.''

They chose a home through Stonewater as they felt that we were very active and passionate about helping them find their perfect home and felt supported. "We were happy to be nominated for affordable-housing as we can finally have the chance to improve our lives and be happy together," said Hannah.

Now in their new home, Hannah reflected on her experience applying through Stonewater and stated, "The process did not take long, we felt completely comfortable, and everything happened so quickly." "The staff and agents from Stonewater were very quick and good at putting things into place, and were also very supportive." When asked to describe the whole process in one sentence, Hannah simply stated "Amazing".

In securing a new home, Hannah was quick to point out that it made their lives a lot easier by having a place that they can finally call home, one that they deserve after all of the years of the trauma of previous accommodation that didn't suit their needs. Hannah was keen to finally settle in her new home and create new opportunities. When asked about rent, Hannah said, "with our rent being much more affordable, we can both get into employment or sign up for some training courses to help us build on for our future, we now have the stability to normality".

When asked what she and her wife loved about her new home, Hannah was quick to say, "Everything, it is spacious, we can already see the way we will make it our home - Our own security and space. It is very overwhelming! I cannot describe how happy we are with our new home. We can relax and enjoy making it our own."

In considering what advice she might give to someone else considering a home through Stonewater, Hannah said, "prepare yourselves to start from scratch, which is all the fun when you get your new home, and really go for it. We wish anyone choosing a home through Stonewater the best of luck as we found them a very supportive housing association that was quick to deal with any queries."

Moving home and choosing Stonewater was the "best thing they have ever done," said Hannah. After receiving a warm welcome with the company, she said they can now move in and really enjoy their home and their future.
