A celebration day at the Firs Meriden – a retirement living scheme in the heart of England
Our residents at The Firs retirement living scheme in Meriden, enjoyed a celebration day to mark the end of the rebranding of the scheme on Friday 5 July along with various Stonewater colleagues and representatives from our contractor, Logmoor Ltd.
Logmoor Ltd commenced work in October 2018 and the scheme was successfully signed off in June 2019.
The work undertaken was noisy, dusty and cold at times but our residents never once complained. They were very understanding and completely cooperative at all times. All the disruption was worth it though – everyone is now totally in awe at their new surroundings and cannot praise; us enough for investing in their scheme and Logmoor Ltd for being a fantastic contractor.
Our celebration day started with a talk from David Blower our Executive Director – Corporate Services, along with a tour of the scheme for those that had not seen it. Later celebrations continued with copious amounts of coffee and general knowledge quizzes followed by games on the lawn such as; archery, table tennis, parachute games, lawn darts, giant snakes & ladders and the opportunity to paint rocks.
Everyone was treated to wonderful buffet lunch, with cakes and plenty of strawberries and cream, and a few games of bingo in the afternoon hosted by Emma and Tracey from our Retirement Living team – you had to be there to appreciate the laughter which ensued!
Tracey and three of our Service Delivery Officers Sandra, Carol and Tami even dressed as unicorns for the celebrations.
All-in-all a perfect day was had by everyone. The weather was especially kind and our residents spent many hours laughing, smiling and reflecting on all that had happened over the last ten months to rebrand this beautiful scheme.
