#RealPeople #RealLives – Muriel
When our Delivery Services Officer, Mariana was called to obtain a spare key for Muriel, one of our retirement living residents in Coventry, she was amazed to hear about her earlier life…
Mariana, originally from Brazil only moved to Coventry three years ago so she didn’t know too much about Coventry’s history.
After talking to Muriel she discovered that during World War II the city was one of the most bombed cities during the Blitz and when Muriel was just eight years old her family home in Coventry was completely destroyed during one of the regular bombing raids. The family had no option but to move out of the area to Nuneaton.
Of Muriel’s story Mariana says: “It makes me so happy that a person who has gone through the war and become such a courageous woman, shared a major life experience with me and has since found a lovely place to live”.
Now living a much more peaceful and safe life in one of our apartments she told Mariana how much her life has improved since she moved in four years ago, adding: “I love to live here. It’s like living in a 5 star hotel. First class. Great people and great services - always”.
Thanks Muriel – we think you’re pretty amazing too!
