Stonewater’s Swinpup fundraiser for Julia’s House
We've got some exciting news to share with you – Stonewater’s Bow Court and Hazelmead House have joined Swindon’s Big Dog Art Trail, and we need your help to make it paw-some!
If you haven't heard about it already, the Big Dog Art Trail is running through the summer of 2023, and it's all for a great cause. Local artists are decorating large fibreglass "balloon dog" sculptures, which will be displayed in parks and other open spaces around Swindon. And the best part? It's all in aid of Julia's House children's hospice.
Our residents and staff have adopted a “Swinpup” as part of the trail and will be working together to decorate it throughout April and May, ready for it to be displayed alongside the full-size dogs from 15 July to 3 September. But that's not all – we also need to raise an "adoption fee" of £500 minimum for Julia's House hospice. And that's where you come in!
We're hosting a whole week of fundraising events from 2nd to 8th June, and we're inviting you to sponsor Bow Court and Hazelmead House. Our events include a fancy dress dance-athon, a staff special triathlon (Mandy – 10k bike ride, Hayley – 1 hour horse ride, Sarah – 10k run) – all at the same time, and "The boys" sponsored walk led by Alan. Plus, our residents have individual events planned throughout the week, like swimming, dog walking, cycling, and fitness classes.
Additionally, we've got a resident running a raffle separately, and the proceeds will go towards the fundraiser.
