Customer Survey: Stop Social Housing Stigma
At Stonewater we're proud of our homes, communities and the people who live in them. We're a member of the Stop Social Housing Stigma campaign because we believe nobody should be judged because they live in Social Housing.
Stop Social Housing Stigma has launched a national survey to hear directly from social housing tenants. They want to understand your experiences, how stigma has affected you and what you think needs to change.
But what is social housing stigma?
Social housing stigma is when people are judged, treated unfairly, or looked down on simply because they live in social housing. It might show up in the way people talk about social housing in the media, how others treat tenants in their communities, or even how housing services are delivered.
Some tenants feel they’re treated differently or not listened to as much as homeowners. Others might feel embarrassed to say they live in social housing, because of how it’s sometimes seen by wider society.
We believe that everyone deserves to feel proud of their home – and no one should be made to feel “less than” because of where they live.
That’s why this survey matters. Your views and experiences can help shape how organisations, landlords, and decision-makers understand and respond to stigma in housing.
It only takes a few minutes to complete – and your voice can help make a difference.
