Help to beat the build-up of damp and mould in your home

Finding damp and mould in your home can be very worrying, but we want you to know that we are here to help you.
As the weather gets colder over the next few months, damp, mould and condensation are more likely to appear in your home, so we have created this handy guide for staying on top of it.
How it happens
Damp and mould usually occur as a result of normal, everyday activities such as washing, cooking or even breathing, when moisture in the air touches cold surfaces such as windows and forms condensation.
If left untreated, this moisture can build-up and form dark, mouldy patches. .
If you do find it in your home, we can help you to find out why it’s happening and how best to deal with it.
How to report it
The best way to tell us about damp and mould issues is by sending pictures to customers@stonewater.org so we can help.
How we’ll help
If you report damp and mould, we might ask you to do a virtual inspection with us so we can understand how your home has been affected. #
Depending on the issue in your home, we might come and visit. We’ll treat the problem and we’ll let you know what we need to do to treat it, and how many visits this might take.
We might also arrange for a contractor to service your extractor fans, heating system and check your vents to ensure they are all working properly.
