Energy price cap update – October 2024

On Tuesday 1 October 2024, annual energy bills will rise by 10% which will mean average households, paying by direct debit, will see costs go up to around £1,717 a year.

The price cap will change again in January 2025, so it is worth doing some research to find out if you'd be better off fixing your tariff or leaving it as variable. You can read more about the price cap on Ofgem’s website.

The amount you pay will depend on household usages, where you live and your meter and payment type.

Don't forget to send regular meter readings, especially before the change on Tuesday 1 October, so that you're paying for what you have used.

We understand that many people are worried about paying for their energy and we want to remind you that support is still available. You can find out more here.
