Supporting customers through the winter months

We know that this time of year brings worries around rising fuel costs and the impact this has on service charges. We’re especially aware of the concerns for customers in schemes with communal energy supplies and wanted to let you know what we’re doing to help.

Earlier this year we were able to secure a lower rate for our energy contracts. We’re also seeing savings from working with customers to reduce energy use.

We’ve continued to look for the best possible rates for our upcoming energy contracts (effective from June 2024) and we’re really pleased to confirm that we’ve made savings which equate to a 27.5% reduction in electric and 30.6% in gas prices.

We predict that these new lower rates, combined with the energy saving measures and efforts to reduce consumption, will mean a reduction in communal and personal energy of around 20-30% for many customers, depending on individual and/or scheme details.

The continuing cost of living crisis has caused worry for so many, especially during these colder months, and we wanted to pass on this good news now to assure you that we’re doing all we can to make sure our customers aren’t struggling.

We’ll be writing to those impacted in February with more information about the charges for 2024.

As promised, we’re continuing to look at the feasibility of moving from a communal supply to individual meters in each of our schemes. This is a big project and we’ll update customers as soon as we have more details to share.

We have a wide range of support available for anyone who might be struggling with costs, worried about energy or looking for advice. These include our dedicated Energy Hub and our Money Matters guide, as well as access to financial grants and other practical help through our independent charity partner, the Longleigh Foundation.

Stonewater remain committed to supporting all customers however we can and we’ll be in touch with those impacted in February 2024 with more details, however if you need support, please reach out to us.
